Jan Brown

Greetings,

I take this opportunity to share some reflections about the year in RCI. And, what a year it has been. While I had extremely ambitious goals in my role early on in the year, I was quickly able to settle in and allow things to emerge, as they ought for a growing organization. Here are some of the highlights. The first Board of Directors was established and held meetings throughout the year to set the course for the organization. The ezine was developed and shared worldwide with interested individuals and organizations. The RCI database was created and the Get the Word Out Task Force provided awesome leadership for the organization.

Through leadership and support of the Officers and Executive Committee, RCI was able to do a significant amount of work on the infrastructure of the organization and is excited about the things that have been put into place. In addition to those mentioned above, others are on the horizon, such as organizational membership for RCI with the International Coaches Federation (ICF) and Low Cost Coaching. Stay tuned for more information!

As we transition into a new year, new leadership is taking its place to further the work of Recovery Coaches International. I am pleased to pass along the presidency to Doreen Cardwell and look forward to the work she and the other officers will be doing in the year ahead. Doreen has great ideas and a strong commitment to increasing membership and supporting membership needs of all of our current members. We are indeed privileged to have a strong leader in Doreen. Equally, I am hopeful that the Officers that will be installed in January will be able to support Doreen, the mission of RCI, and provide individual skills that are needed by the organization and growing field of Recovery Coaching.

I remain committed to the organization and will serve in a new capacity, that of Chairman of RCI. I am honored to work in this capacity and will bring my spirit and commitment to my work.

I wish you all a prosperous New Year.

Peace, Jan
