In a Spirit of Collaboration —
As the incoming President, I want to thank all who put their names forward as officers and congratulate those elected. I look forward to working with all of you “in a spirit of collaboration.”
As I review 2009 as President Elect of RCI, I want to acknowledge Alida Schuyler and Andrew Susskind, Co-founders of RCI, for their vision in creating RCI, and for the vast time and effort they devote to RCI. I also want to thank Jan Brown for her leadership as President of RCI in 2009 and look forward to working with her when she assumes the Board Chair in 2010. I also want to express my gratitude to every single person who has volunteered their valuable time and talent to RCI. You are the solid foundation of RCI.
Along with a solid foundation, a strong membership is imperative for the success of RCI’s vision. Henceforth, it is my number one priority as President in 2010 to connect with members, current and new, on a one-to-one basis via telephone or email, through quarterly meetings and through RCI’s newsletter. It is imperative that we get to know each other.
Alida Schuyler’s vision is that RCI be guided from the bottom up. Andrew Susskind’s vision is that RCI, “in a spirit of collaboration, become a community that embraces everyone in the world who works in the recovery field.” As a result, together, in a spirit of collaboration, as we get to know one another and explore what each member brings to the table, RCI is destined to grow.
It is with an open heart that I invite members to contact me via telephone at 250-448-1880 or via email at doreen@coachcardwell.com.
I want to thank the current members for their support in 2009, and I look forward to serving you in 2010 “in a spirit of collaboration.”
